What are dried flowers?
Dried flowers is the name for a group of decorations that has been dried. In reality, it is more than just plain flowers. It has become a collective noun for a very versataile group of decorations, that varies from ornamental flowers to grasses, but also even pine cones and lotus heads. A better name would actually be "dried decorations".

Dried flowers are ideal to process in your bouquets and compositions. Not only because most of them are easy to cut or dye, but also because you can enjoy your creations many times longer than fresh flowers.

How do I make dried flowers?
You can make dried flowers the traditional way by hanging bunches of flowers or grasses upside down in a cool, dark, preferably well-ventilated place. Some flowers are better suited then others. Generally, wooden-like flowers are better for drying than softer flowers. Examples of flowers that are suitable: strawflowers (Helichrysym), thistles, yarrow, statice, lavender and grasses like wheat and oats. Softer flowers like larkspur and some roses are suitable too.
